A great night sleep is a good feeling. It allows you to wake up the next day feeling refreshed and ready. With that said, we can both agree that a good night sleep is hard to get. Don’t worry there are some rules that you can follow to try to improve your sleep:
Stay away from your phone
The screens from computers, tablets, smartphones and LED lights emit a lot of blue light. If you never knew, the blue light can be stimulating to your brain. This makes the brain produce less melatonin, the sleep-inducing hormone. It’s important that you don’t use your phone when it’s close to bedtime.
Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol, and Nicotine
This should be a no-brainer. These chemicals tend to interfere with your sleep, so it’s important that you avoid them. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t consume them completely, no! just don’t consume them a few hours before bedtime.
Adjust your Bedroom Environment
This might not work for everyone, but if you can, do change up the environment in your room. Make it quiet, dark and cool. This type of environment is known to promote slumber easily. Take out the TV, use earplugs and heavy curtains to name a few things. It could make all the difference.
Take a Shower
A shower is soothing and it can help you achieve better sleep. A shower can help relax your body and thus help your body realize that it’s time to sleep. Try taking a shower right before bed, it could help you.
